What are the Symptoms?
There is a lot of chatter about whether prediabetes has symptoms or not. Many people we've spoken to have had some symptoms as listed below, but thought they were just a factor of getting older. A lot of people won't have any symptoms at all.

Some groups out there are of the opinion if you have symptoms, you already have Type II diabetes. In our experience this may not be the case as your HbA1c bloods may still indicate you are in what is classed as the prediabetes range ie 42 mmol/mol to 47 mmol/mol. If you do have symptoms this should be a major warning for you.

If you have any of the following symptoms, please make sure you book an appointment with your GP to get checked out as soon as possible. If you do have prediabetes, pop back and visit the site for more information and guidance.

-
needing to get up in the night for a wee
-
having blurred vision
-
feeling tired a lot of the time - wanting a quick afternoon snooze
-
losing weight without even trying
-
itching around the genitals
-
thrush
-
feeling thirsty
-
cuts taking longer to heal than they used to
-
feeling hungry still after a meal
-
sudden weight loss
-
sudden loss of muscle mass

Some other things people have mentioned that they had prior to or since being diagnosed with prediabetes are listed below. Some have said these symptoms has gone away since being on the healthy eating road.

-
Pins and needles in fingers and feet
-
Coming out in acne like at 16 year old!
-
Feet - peeling skin, cracked skin and itchy (some or all of these things)
This is just what people we have spoken to have experienced. We cannot say 100% whether the pins and needles or acne or anything else on this list are symptoms actually related to prediabetes, but something to maybe be aware of.

This is a condition which develops over time with no indication as to what is happening so you may or may not exhibit some or all of these symptoms.
